Meeting on Draft Labour Act on Sept 24, 2014

The Meeting on Draft Labour Act was held on Sept 24, 2014 at FNCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Vice president of FNCCI and Chairperson of the Employers' Council, Mr. Shekhar Golchha. The members of the Employers' Council, representatives from various member organizations like Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Industry, Morang, FHAN, Security, NICCI, NCELL, Bhatbhateni, Surya Nepal, Standard and Chartered Bank Ltd, FNCSI including the Labour Law Task Force members attended the meeting and discussed the current status of the Draft Labour Act. The Vice presidents of FNCCI, Mr. Kishor Pradhan and Dinesh Shrestha were also present in the meeting. The meeting thanked the Task Force comprising of Ak Jha, Somnath Adhikari, Sailnath Gautam, Madhav Bhattarai and Hansa Ram Pandey for thier hard work in narrowing down the differences and making good progress in the negotiation. The Ministry of Labour and Employment is in the process of finalizing the draft Act for the presentation in the Constituent Assembly for enactment.
