Training Workshop on Capacity Building of District Employers' Units

The training workshop on Capacity Building of District Employers Unit was held on July 21/22 at Hotel Greenwich, Kupundole Height, Lalitpur. The program was organized by FNCCI-EC with the support of Bureau for Employers Activities, ILO Delhi. Representatives from nine districts chambers (Bara, Birgunj, Biratnagar, Butwal, Makwanpur, Nepalgunj, Pokhara and Siddharthanagar participated in the program. 
 
The program concluded with a consensus on the following points:
 
  • Annual meeting of employer units of the District Chambers at the initiative of the Employers' Council 
     
  • Five regional meetings of employer units of the District Chambers in a year 
     
  • Commitment from Siddharthanagar, Bara and Nepalgunj to set up employers unit in thier respective chambers within two three months. 
     
  • Strengthen consultative mechanisms between the EC at the centre and the Districts through designation of focal persons for the EC activities
     
  • Strengthen data and information sharing mechanisms between the centre and district employers' units. 
 
The training workshop was facilitated by ILO Senior Specialist, Gotabaya Dasanayaka from Delhi.
