New minimum wage published in Nepal Gazette (Part 61, Kathmandu, Jestha 9, 2068, No 6)

The Ministry of Labour and Transport Management, Government of Nepal has published new minimum wage for all the workers/employees of all the enterprises excluding tea estate on Jestha 9, 2068. 
 
(1)   Monthly minimum wage has been fixed as follows:
 
         (a)  Basic wage = Rs 3550/- (increment of Rs 500/-)
 
         (b)  Dearness allowance = 2650/- (increment of Rs. 1100/-)
 
                Total = 3550/- + 2650/- Rs 6200/= (total increment of Rs 1600/-)
 
         (c)  Daily wage has been fixed at Rs. 231/- (increment of Rs 41/-)
 
(2)  New minimum wage mentioned above is effective from Chaitra 1, 2067
 
(3) Any increment made in minimum wage and allowance from Baishak 1, 2067 onwards may be adjusted in this new minimum wage and dearness allowance.
 
(4) A provision for the contribution of 20% and 11% of the basic salary by the employers and workers/employees respectively into the social security system has been made and will be  effectively enforced after the enactment of the Social Security law.
